Gundogs

In essence, gun dogs were originally trained to find live game and/or to retrieve game that had been shot and wounded. Divided into 4 categories (Retrievers, Spaniels, Hunt/Point/Retrieve and Setters) they are extremely popular as pets due to their temperament and companionship. Some say that they are perhaps the most intelligent of the breeds, resulting in their wide variety of uses and their ease of training.
