Utility

Effectively the Utility group, whilst the words represent "fitness for a purpose", is made up of the dogs that don't fit into the other six categories. With non-sporting origins you can include dogs like the Bulldogs, Dalmatians, Japanese Akita's and of course the Poodles. The group therefore consists of a very mixed and varied bunch, most breeds having been selectively bred to perform a specific function not included in the sporting and working categories.
